Launching Botpaid: pay-as-you-go media generation for MCP clients
Botpaid exists because MCP-first developers should not have to maintain separate subscriptions, dashboards, and credentials for every media model they want to use from an assistant.
The problem
Direct provider APIs are powerful, but they create account sprawl, fragmented billing, and repeated integration work. Subscription products solve one part of the problem and create another: the user pays whether or not they actually need the tool that month. Botpaid takes a different approach by exposing one hosted MCP surface and a prepaid balance instead of a seat-based subscription.
The approach
The production MCP endpoint lives at https://app.botpaid.com/mcp. Users authenticate with GitHub or Google on https://app.botpaid.com, add credits, and then call hosted tools for image generation, editing, composition, video generation, and narrated audio. Botpaid runs on Cloudflare Workers and keeps the integration surface stable while the underlying provider mix evolves.
The business model
Each generation is billed at provider cost plus a flat 20% Botpaid service fee. Balances start at $1, and unused balance can be refunded within 180 days of purchase. This keeps pricing understandable and makes it easier for developers to try the product without committing to another monthly subscription.
